2002 CSCI Faculty Texas Instruments Denton Plant Visit

In April, 2002, the CSCI faculty and their guests toured the recently purchased Texas Instruments' Manufacturing Plant in Denton. The facility would soon become UNT's Research Park, and the future home of the newly-formed College of Engineering and one of its charter members, the Computer Science and Engineering Department.

Everyone gathering in the main entrance area to get ready for our tour.
The spacious hallways (notice the plant areas are bare).
The faculty walking toward the CSE department future facilities.
The future cafeteria (finally opened in 2007).
Everyone taking a momentary rest in the tour.
Detail of the space-frame between floors.
Dr. Brazile calculating floor space (for his lab, maybe?)
An incredible amount of floor space.
A piece of manufacturing equipment left behind by TI.
Details of the cable trays running on the ceiling.
View of front entrance from future faculty office area.
View looking toward TWU in the distance.
