There is a new GRE Test that will be available after August 1, 2011. So if you are seeking Spring 2012 admission, it would be best if you take your GRE Testing BEFORE August 1, 2011. For more information please go to the following link: http://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/know
Current PhD students: So many new changes for you! There has been a reduction in the number of required hours. A minimum of 42 semester credit hours beyond the master’s degree will now be required and a minimum of 72 hours beyond a bachelor’s degree. Your 6000-level course requirement of 12 semester credit hours has also been reduced to 6 semester credit hours. The department is not requiring a tool subject any longer to be placed on your PhD degree plan as well.
The new hours are exciting and I know now that you may need to tweak your degree plans a bit or even want to submit a new PhD degree plan. Please remember that you may not submit PhD degree plans with the new reduced hours until after August 1, 2011. After that, please submit and do mind that it takes some time for these to be processed by the Graduate School.
New Applicants: Our College of Engineering application deadlines are going to be changing soon. So if you are interested in applying for the Spring 2012 semester, please do so by September 15, 2011.
