2010 Former Computer Science Chairman Jim Poirot honored at Texas Computer Education Association Conference in Austin

In February, the 30th annual Texas Computer Education Association Convention was held in Austin. In addition to the convention, a special reception was held for Dr. Jim Poirot, Regents Professor, CECS Program Coordinator, Director of TCET, and former Chairman of the Computer Science Department from 1981 to 1986.

Jim was being honored for his many years of service with the TCEA. Both events were attended by Don Retzlaff and Gerald Knezek, former Computer Science faculty member and current Regents Professor of Learning Technologies. Although many of Jim’s friends, family and colleagues attended the reception, several were unable to make it due to the snow storm in the Dallas area. Jim is currently on modified service with the Department of Learning Technologies.
