Advising

If you are "getting your core out of the way" at a 2-year college, PLEASE also take math and programming courses. Otherwise you get to UNT and can take only a few courses, since you do not have the pre-requisites for more advanced computer classes. Getting your core done before starting on major courses or math courses is the number one cause of spending 9 years in college. Don't be Van Wilder!

Degree Plan or Degree Audit

A degree plan or degree audit (they are the same thing) is a document that outlines your courses taken, and still required. To get a degree plan, make an appointment with an advisor and bring your transcripts (from every school you have attended - you can get them all at the registrar's office in ESSC). If you do not have your transcripts at your appointment, we will not be able to proceed. You should do this when you start taking upper division courses, or upon transfer.

More information on obtaining a degree audit can be found here.

Graduation

At the very start of the semester that you intend to graduate, you need to file for graduation with the College of Engineering advisors on the first floor of Discovery Park.
