Wireless Sensor Lab (WiSL)

Welcome to the Wireless Sensor Lab (WiSL) web site. WiSL is part of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas, and refers both to a physical facility (currently located in Research Park F220) and an active group of people with an interest in wireless communication and sensors. WiSL was established in 2003 with the following mission:

To increase general wireless communications awareness of Computer Science and Engineering graduates, produce skilled wireless specialists, and conduct research and development activities to advance the state of the art in wireless sensors.

The mission of the lab is pursued through the following activities:

  • Education: Work within both traditional university degree programs, and providing state-of-the-art training programs for industry professionals;

  • Research: Produce world-class wireless communication and sensor research, involving faculty and students at all levels, from undergraduate to Ph.D. students;

  • Industry involvement: Work with industry to keep the academia/industry gap as small as possible, without compromising our general academic mission.
