The Scale compiler developed at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, is designed to be a robust, state-of-the-art compiler to be used in research. Thus, an important design feature is the ability to either easily adapt or replace existing Scale code. Current compiler development at UNT (Arpeggio, SDF, Hy-C) uses Scale to provide parsing, intermediate optimization and analysis.
