The Intelligent Distributed Software Systems (IDSS) research group provides the software and hardware infrastructure for research and graduate teaching in new and exciting areas such as Intelligent Mobile Agents, Distributed Artificial Intelligence and Internet Programming.

The group's laboratory consists of a number of inexpensive but well configured PCs usable in both Windows and Linux  mode, containing advanced software development tools as well as the latest generation of Internet programming software. We will also add hardware and software supporting spoken language recognition/generation, high speed networking, palm and handheld computers  software,  various Java, C++  and Prolog compilers and IDEs as well as the latest generation of automated software engineering and program generation tools.

On the teaching side, the lab will support Internet based course development for Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Software Engineering and Intelligent Agent courses.
